Is there a free trial available?

Yes. New accounts start on the Free plan with free credits (15 at the time of writing) that work across every feature: the desktop app, the Mobile Copilot, AI Mock Interview, Job Search and Auto-Apply. If you like the product, upgrade to a subscription or buy bonus credits.

What devices and platforms are supported?

The desktop app runs on macOS 13 Ventura or later (Apple Silicon and Intel builds) and Windows 10 or 11 (64-bit). The web app works in any modern browser; live video interviews run in the desktop app only. The Mobile Copilot runs in your phone's browser with nothing to install. The Auto-Apply extension needs desktop Chrome or another Chromium browser.

Do I need to download anything to get started?

Only for live video interviews. Practice, jobs, resume and billing all work at app.lastroundai.com, and the Mobile Copilot runs in your phone's browser. Live help during a Zoom, Google Meet or Teams interview needs the desktop app.

Does the desktop app need an API key?

Accepted Answer

No. Older guides described generating an API key on the website; that step no longer exists. You sign in inside the desktop app with Google or your email and password, and your credits, resume and preferences sync automatically.

How fast does the AI respond?

Accepted Answer

Answers typically start appearing within a second or two of pressing Answer (⌘/Ctrl + Enter). Speed depends on your connection and the length of the question. With Auto-Response on, the app first waits about 2 to 3 seconds after the interviewer stops talking, so pressing Answer yourself is faster.

Can the AI help with technical interviews?

Yes. Pick your domain in Interview Setup: 25 categories and more than 500 searchable domains, from software development, cloud, data science and cybersecurity to healthcare (medical school, residency, nursing, pharmacy and more), finance and accounting, banking, HR, legal, education, government and visa interviews, hospitality and aviation. Pick the closest one, because it shapes the answers. For coding problems, capture the screen and press Answer: you get the approach, complete code in the editor's language, time and space complexity and edge cases, with Regenerate, Another approach and Explain simpler buttons underneath (⌘/Ctrl + Shift + G, Y and X). There is no separate coding mode to switch to.

Can I use the desktop app for an online assessment?

Accepted Answer

Yes. There is one interview mode, so there is nothing to switch. Press ⌘/Ctrl + H to capture the question, then ⌘/Ctrl + Enter to answer. Multiple choice, select-all, code output, aptitude, verbal and data interpretation questions all work, technical or not, and a coding problem gets complete code. For a long question, capture each screen and press Answer once: several captures before one Answer count as one question, and screenshots that were already answered are not sent again. Code output, calculations, puzzles and chart questions come back with a few lines of working and a final bold Answer line. Some platforms detect mouse movement and clicks outside the test window, so use the keyboard shortcuts rather than clicking the overlay, and check the platform's rules first.

Which key gets an answer in the desktop app?

Three keys all work. ⌘/Ctrl + Enter works from any app and is the one to use. ⌘/Ctrl + Space also works from any app, but on macOS it is Spotlight's default and may not reach the app. Space on its own works only while the LastRound AI window is in front. Press ⌘/Ctrl + / for the full shortcut list.

How do I see the desktop app tour again?

New users see a short guided tour once after signing in. Replay it any time from Settings → Help → Quick Actions → App tour in the desktop app, when no session is running.

How do I check the desktop app can hear my interviewer?

Accepted Answer

Use the audio check. The app hears the interviewer through your computer's sound, not your microphone, so open ⋮ → Interview Setup → Audio check, play any sound on the computer (a YouTube video or your meeting app's speaker test) and click Test meeting audio. "We can hear your computer's audio" means the interview will be captured the same way. "We can't hear anything" comes with the fix for your Mac or PC. Is my Interview Setup kept if I reinstall or use another computer?

Yes. Interview Setup (category, domain, interview language, job description, instructions, answer style, Auto-Response, preferred coding language, About you, prepared answers, behavioral stories) and your resume text are saved to your LastRound AI account and restored every time you open the app or sign in. If you edit on two computers, the latest edit to each field wins. If you chose Keep on this device only under Interview history, nothing from Interview Setup is stored on our servers and it stays on that computer.

Can I point the AI at a specific job description?

Accepted Answer

Yes. In the desktop app, open ⋮ → Interview Setup and paste the posting into Job description under This interview (up to 4,000 characters), then add anything else in Your instructions (up to 1,000 characters, e.g. "lead with my migration project" or "keep answers under 60 seconds"). Answers then use that role's vocabulary and priorities. The toggle "Answer beyond my resume" (on by default) lets the AI give a realistic example from your role when asked about work your resume does not spell out; your employers, job titles and dates always stay as on your resume. Turn it off to keep specific work to what the resume says. Changes apply from your next answer. Your setup is saved to your account and restored after a reinstall or on another computer, unless you keep interview history on this device only. Which languages does the interview copilot support?

The desktop app supports 61 interview languages: English plus 60 more, including Spanish, French, German, Portuguese, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Bengali, Arabic, Japanese, Korean, Chinese (Mandarin and Cantonese), Polish and Ukrainian. You pick one language per interview during first-run setup or in Interview Setup (the picker has a search box). The interviewer's speech is transcribed in that language and every answer comes back in it. English is the default. The full list is at lastroundai.com/help/interview-setup#interview-language. The list applies to the desktop app, not the Mobile Copilot.

Can one interview mix two languages, such as Hindi and English?

No. Each interview uses one language, and answers are never mixed. If you choose English and the interviewer says a few words in Hindi, you still get English answers. If the interview is mainly in Hindi, set the interview language to Hindi before you press Start. Technical terms, product names and code keep their usual form in any language.

Why does the app ask me to confirm the interview details before every interview?

So a setup left over from a different interview never costs you a paid session. Before billing starts, the desktop app shows the domain, your name and target role, resume, job description, instructions, your preferred coding language if you set one, interview language and how answers are triggered, with Edit details and Details are correct — start interview. If you always interview for the same profile you can tick "I always interview for this same profile" to skip it; it comes back automatically whenever any of those details change, and Settings can turn it back on.

Can the AI use my notice period, salary or answers I prepared?

Yes. In the desktop app open ⋮ → Interview Setup → About you. Under Questions interviewers ask you, fill in the ones that apply (notice period, expected salary, work authorisation, relocation and more); the AI uses your exact answers instead of guessing. Under Prepared answers, add questions you expect with your own answer, or use Draft with AI and edit it; when the interviewer asks one, the answer on screen is built on yours. Does the desktop app remember my previous interviews?

Yes, if your interview history is saved to your account. After each interview it keeps a short summary (companies, topics asked, what you said) so the next round stays consistent. You can see, edit or clear it, or switch off Use my previous interviews in answers, under ⋮ → Interview Setup → About you → Memory of previous interviews. Why did the app ask "Still in your interview?"

To save your credits when a session is left running. If nothing is heard for 5 minutes after Start, or nothing new happens for 10 minutes once the interview is going, the desktop app asks. Click I'm here (or press the Answer key) if you are waiting for the interviewer, or End now. With no reply the session ends after 60 seconds.

What's the difference between the desktop app and the web app?

The desktop app is where live interviews happen: an overlay that is excluded from screen sharing and recording, and hears the meeting audio directly. Use it for Zoom, Google Meet and Teams interviews. The web app holds everything else (mock interviews, preparation, jobs, resume, billing, Interview History) plus the Mobile Copilot for phone and in-person interviews. There is no in-browser copilot for video interviews.

What data do you store about my interviews?

By default we keep a record of your interview Q&A in your account so you can revisit it later under Interview History; only you can see it. We also store session metadata (start time, duration, credits used) for billing. We never store your interview audio or video, and we do not share, sell or publish your content. If you would rather we kept none of it, the desktop app can store your history on your own computer instead — see "Can I keep my interview history off your servers?" below.

Can I keep my interview history off your servers?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Open the desktop app, go to Settings → Account → Privacy & Local Data and choose "Keep on this device only" under Interview history. From then on your questions and answers are written to a folder on your own computer instead of being saved to your account (Show my interview history folder opens it). Your questions still have to be sent to our AI service during the interview so it can answer you, but with this setting on we keep no transcript of them afterwards; we retain session information such as duration, credits used and basic usage analytics. You can switch back to saving in your account at any time; the change applies to new sessions, not ones already saved. The same setting also keeps your Interview Setup and resume text off our servers, and interview memory is not available.

If my history is stored locally, can I still review it?

Yes, in two places. In the desktop app your on-device sessions appear under Settings → Account → Saved on this computer, marked "On this device". You can also read them in Chrome or Edge: go to Interview History in the dashboard and choose "Load from this device", then pick the folder that Show my interview history folder opens in the desktop app. Your browser reads those files straight off your disk and displays them, so no copy is uploaded to us. The desktop app has a button that opens the exact folder for you.

What is actually sent to your servers during a live interview?

To answer you in real time the audio is transcribed and the question is sent to an AI model, through LastRound AI and our speech and AI providers; screenshots you capture are sent the same way. This happens whichever storage option you choose. What you control is what is kept afterwards: with "Keep on this device only" no transcript is stored in your account, and we retain session information such as duration, credits used, interview mode and basic usage analytics.

Does LastRound AI record my interviews?

Only if you turn it on, and only to your own computer. Session recording is off by default. When enabled it captures your screen together with the call audio and your own microphone and saves it as a video file on your device; it is never uploaded to LastRound AI, and you can delete recordings any time from the desktop app. Make sure everyone on the call knows they are being recorded and that recording is permitted where you live, because consent rules vary by region.

How does the invisible screen sharing work?

The desktop app marks its window as protected content, which macOS and Windows exclude from screen capture. Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams and screen recorders see your desktop without the overlay. Your mouse pointer is still shared, and some assessment platforms detect clicks outside the test window, so use keyboard shortcuts during the interview, and run Check what others see beforehand.

Is the desktop app invisible on every platform?

We test against the major meeting tools (Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, Webex and more) and publish the current status at app.lastroundai.com/stealth-status. Lockdown browsers used by some assessment vendors can block it. Always test on your own setup before an important interview.

How secure is my account information?

Accounts use Google sign-in or email with verified addresses, data is stored with row-level security so only you can read your own records, and you can delete your account from Settings → Data & privacy.

Is there a free plan?

Yes. Every account starts on the Free plan with 15 credits a month, and you do not need a card to sign up. Outside India the paid plan is Unlimited (unlimited interviews under fair use); in India paid plans add more credits every billing cycle and let you buy bonus credit packs.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. In the web app go to Settings → Billing and use Cancel Subscription. There is no cancellation fee, you keep your plan until the end of the period you paid for, and any bonus credits stay in your account.

Credits apply to plans in India; outside India plans are Unlimited with fair use. In India: Starter includes 150 credits a month ($29 month to month, or $19/month on a 3-month plan billed $57); Professional includes 360 credits a month ($49 month to month, or $39/month on a 3-month plan billed $117); Ultimate includes 750 credits a month ($99 month to month, or $79/month on a 3-month plan billed $237). The Free plan has 15 credits. Each plan also has a monthly Auto-Apply allowance. Plan credits reset each billing cycle and do not roll over; bonus credits never expire.

How many credits does each feature use?

AI Mock Interview and the Live Interview Copilot (desktop app and Mobile Copilot) bill 1 credit per connected minute, rounded up, so a 20-minute mock costs 20 credits and a 45-minute live interview costs 45. Mock sessions run 5 to 60 minutes, chosen when you set the session up, and bill at most that length plus a 3-minute buffer. Desktop sessions under 30 seconds are not billed. Job Search is a flat 5 credits per fresh search, and free if the results are cached or empty. It depends on where the session runs. In the desktop app, bonus credits are used first, then plan credits. In the web app (for example AI Mock Interview), plan credits are used first, then bonus credits. Bonus credits never expire either way.

What's your refund policy?

Accepted Answer

A purchase can be refunded only if none of its credits have been used and you ask within 7 days of the payment. Free, bonus and promotional credits are not refundable. Refund requests are accepted by email only: write to contact@lastroundai.com from your account email with the payment date, amount and transaction ID. Can I purchase additional credits if I run out?

In India, yes, while you are on a paid plan. Open Account → Subscription and use View Bonus Credit Packages: Quick Boost 70 credits for $14, Power Pack 130 credits for $27. If you run out most months, the next plan up costs less per credit. On the Free plan, upgrade first.

What does Unlimited mean?

Unlimited interviews: you are never charged per minute or per interview. Fair use keeps the service fast for everyone. On Monthly each interview can run up to 60 min and you get 2 h of live copilot a day, plus 5 h a month of mock interviews. On 3 Months each interview can run up to 2 h, with 3 h of live copilot a day and 1 h every day of mock interviews. The daily time resets at midnight UTC.

What happens if my interview runs past 60 min on Monthly?

The desktop app warns you at 50 min. The answer on your screen finishes, then the session ends at 60 min. If your interviews often run longer, switch to 3 Months in one click: interviews of up to 2 h each, for $39 a month.

Why is the price different in my country?

Accepted Answer

We price by country. Outside India the plan is Unlimited at $49 a month or $117 every 3 months. In India we keep our credit plans (1 credit is 1 minute), paid in rupees through Razorpay or in US dollars through PayPal. Your country comes from where you first signed in, or from your connection if you are not signed in yet. Every new account also gets 15 free credits to try the app.

Can I cancel?

Yes, any time. In the web app go to Settings → Billing and use Cancel Subscription. There is no cancellation fee and you keep Unlimited until the end of the period you paid for. The 3-month price stays the same when it renews. Refunds follow the policy at lastroundai.com/refund.

Which browsers does the Auto-Apply extension support?

Accepted Answer

Desktop Chrome and other Chromium browsers such as Edge. The extension is published on the Chrome Web Store as LastRoundAI Job Copilot: AI Auto Apply. On phones or in Safari and Firefox, Auto-Apply still finds and prepares applications; you submit them by hand.

Does Auto-Apply log in to my LinkedIn or Indeed account?

Accepted Answer

No. The extension works inside your own logged-in browser session and never sees your passwords. By default it fills the form and stops at Submit so you review first. Auto-submit on LinkedIn and Indeed is off unless you turn it on in the extension popup.

How does the Mobile Interview Copilot work?

Open app.lastroundai.com in your phone's browser, choose Live Interview → Mobile Copilot, allow the microphone and tap Start Session. After each question tap Generate Response to get a text answer. Mute while you speak so your own voice is not transcribed.

Do I need to download a mobile app?

No. The Mobile Copilot runs in the phone browser; there is nothing in the app stores to install.

Does the Mobile Copilot work offline?

Accepted Answer

No. It needs an internet connection for transcription and answers, but it works on modest mobile bandwidth.

Can I use Bluetooth headphones with the Mobile Copilot?

Accepted Answer

Not recommended. The copilot listens to the interview through the phone's own microphone, so a Bluetooth headset that captures only your voice will miss the interviewer.
