Desktop App Setup Guide
Follow these simple steps to set up and start using the LastRound AI Desktop Application for your interviews.

Initial Setup
Create Your Account
First, you need to register to start using our services. You can sign up using your Google account or create an account with your email.

Download the Desktop App
The desktop application is available for both Windows and macOS users. Choose the version that matches your operating system.

Generate Your API Key
After downloading the app, you need to create an API key to authenticate and use the desktop application securely.
- Click 'Generate New API Key' button
- Enter a name for your API key (e.g., 'My Desktop App')
- Optionally set an expiration date for enhanced security
- Copy and save your API key securely
- You'll need this key to activate the desktop app
Install the Application
Locate the downloaded file and move it to your Applications folder.
- Locate the downloaded Lastround AI.app file in your Downloads folder
- Drag and drop the Lastround AI.app to the Applications folder
- Wait for the installation to complete
Drag the app to Applications folder
Simply drag the Lastround AI icon from Downloads and drop it into the Applications folder
Open the App & Handle Security
Launch the application for the first time and approve the security prompt.
- Go to Applications folder and locate Lastround AI
- Double-click to open the app
- macOS will show a security warning for apps downloaded from the internet
- Click 'Open' to confirm you want to run the application
- This is a one-time security check by macOS
Grant Required Permissions
The app needs microphone and screen recording permissions to function properly. You'll be prompted to grant these permissions.
- When you first launch the app, you'll see permission request dialogs
- Click 'Open System Settings' or 'Allow' when prompted
- You need to grant two permissions: Microphone and Screen Recording

Enable Microphone Access
Go to System Settings > Privacy & Security > Microphone and enable Lastround AI

Go to System Settings > Privacy & Security > Screen Recording and enable Lastround AI
Getting Started with LastRound AI Desktop
After installing the desktop application and granting permissions, enter the API key you generated. Choose from three interview modes based on your needs.
- Coding Interview - For technical coding challenges and algorithm problems
- Live Interview - For real-time assistance during actual interviews with system audio capture
- Practice Interview - For testing the application and practicing your interview skills before going live
Live Interview Mode
Get real-time AI assistance during actual interviews with system audio capture.
Select Interview Domain
Click on 'Start Live Interview' from the home screen and choose your expertise area for personalized preparation.
- Choose from domains like Software Development, Cloud Computing, Data Science, and more
- Domain selection helps AI provide relevant, context-aware responses
- You can also select 'Skip (General)' for non-domain-specific interviews
Upload Your Resume (Optional)
Upload your resume to get personalized AI responses based on your experience, skills, and projects during the interview.
- Uploading resume is optional but highly recommended
- AI analyzes your resume content locally (no external upload)
- Supports PDF, DOC, DOCX, TXT formats (max 10MB)
- Get responses tailored to your background and experience
- Click 'Continue to Interview' when ready
Start Your Live Interview
Click 'Start Interview' to begin. You'll see the interview interface with system audio capture and AI assistance options.
- Screen record icon - Capture system audio from meeting platforms
- Interview duration timer - Tracks your session time
- Credit balance - Monitor your remaining credits
- ASK AI button - Get AI responses to interview questions
- Clear button - Reset transcription and start fresh
- End button - Finish interview and deduct credits based on duration
Capture System Audio & Get AI Responses
Click the computer icon to capture system audio from platforms like Zoom, Skype, Teams, or Google Meet. Make sure you're already in the meeting before starting.
- Ensure you're already in a meeting (Zoom, Teams, Google Meet, etc.) before clicking the computer icon
- The system will capture and transcribe audio in real-time
- Listen to the interviewer's question completely
- Once the question is finished, click 'ASK AI' or press Space bar
- AI will provide detailed responses based on the question and your resume
- Use arrow keys or Page Up/Down to scroll through AI responses
Please Note:
Make sure you have granted system audio capture permissions. For best results, join your meeting platform before starting the live interview session.
Coding Interview Mode
Get AI-powered assistance for coding challenges and algorithm problems.
Using Coding Interview Mode
Get AI-powered assistance for coding problems from any platform like LeetCode, HackerRank, or other coding platforms.
- Click 'Start Coding Interview' and select your programming language and round type
- Navigate to your coding platform and click 'Capture Code/Solution' (Ctrl+H or Cmd+H)
- Click 'Get Solution' (Ctrl+Space on Windows / Cmd+Space on Mac) for detailed AI analysis
- Resize the window to keep it visible alongside your coding platform
- Use 'Clear' option to remove existing screenshots and start fresh
- Click 'End' to finish the interview session and deduct credits based on duration
Please Note:
This application has not been tested on all coding platforms. Some platforms may detect screenshot activity or external tools and could flag your session or deduct credits during assessments. Always verify that your interview platform permits the use of external assistance tools before starting your session.
Practice Interview Mode
Test the application and practice your interview skills before going live.
Select Practice Interview
Click on 'Start Practice Session' from the home screen to begin testing the application and practicing your interview skills.
- Practice Interview allows you to test the app before live interviews
- Get familiar with the interface and AI responses
- Practice your communication and interview skills in a safe environment
Select Interview Domain
Choose your expertise area to get domain-specific practice questions and AI responses tailored to your field.
- Select from various domains like Software Development, Cloud Computing, Data Science, etc.
- Domain selection helps simulate realistic interview scenarios
- You can also choose 'Skip (General)' for general practice
Upload Resume & Start Practice
Optionally upload your resume for personalized AI responses, then click 'Start Interview' to begin your practice session.
- Upload your resume to get personalized feedback (optional)
- Resume is processed locally for privacy
- Click 'Continue to Interview' when ready to start
- Practice sessions help you understand how AI will respond during real interviews
Start Your Practice Session
Begin practicing with the microphone feature. Click the microphone icon to capture audio from your system microphone and ask practice questions.
- Click the microphone icon to start recording your voice
- Speak your practice questions or responses clearly
- The system will transcribe your speech in real-time
- Use 'ASK AI' button to get AI feedback and suggestions
- Monitor your session time and credit balance
- Use 'Clear' to reset and start fresh
- Click 'End' when you finish practicing
Get AI Feedback & Practice Responses
After speaking your question or response, click 'ASK AI' or press Space bar to receive detailed AI feedback and practice responses.
- AI analyzes your questions and provides detailed responses
- Practice answering common interview questions
- Get feedback on your communication style
- Test different types of questions (technical, behavioral, situational)
- Use arrow keys or Page Up/Down to scroll through AI responses
- Practice sessions help build confidence before real interviews
