    How it works

    Four steps, all on the keyboard

      Start a Live interview session

      Live interview carries the hint "Works for assessments too" in desktop 4.0.15 and later.

      Capture the question

      Press ⌘/Ctrl + H. A long question that spans several screens can take several captures; they are sent together as one question.

      Answer

      Press ⌘/Ctrl + Enter. Only new screenshots are sent, so the previous question never gets mixed in.

      Check the working

      For code output, calculations, puzzles and charts you get a few lines of working and a bold final line, Answer: X.

    Honest about missing context

    If a question refers to a passage you did not capture, the answer says so and gives a best guess to verify, instead of inventing the text.

    Keyboard only

    Answer with ⌘/Ctrl + Enter, capture the screen with ⌘/Ctrl + H and hide or show the overlay with ⌘/Ctrl + B. The shortcuts work while your meeting, browser or editor has focus.

    Before the interview

    • Learn the shortcuts before the test

      ⌘/Ctrl + / shows the full list over whatever you are looking at.

    • Capture the whole question

      Include the options and any passage or table the question refers to.

    • Read the test's rules

      Many assessments state what is allowed. Those rules apply whatever is technically visible.

    Where to be careful

    • Some assessment platforms detect clicks and focus changes outside the test window. Clicking the overlay does exactly that, so use the keyboard shortcuts.
    • Lockdown browsers and proctoring software that you have to install run deeper on your computer and can block the overlay outright. We do not promise it works there; try a practice test first.
    • If the test watches you through your webcam, glancing at the overlay can look like looking away.

    Do I need Coding round for an online assessment?

    No. Timed tests with multiple choice, code output, puzzles and short questions work in Live interview mode. Use Coding round only for full coding problems.

    What happens with a question that spans several screens?

    Capture each screen with ⌘/Ctrl + H, then press Answer once. Several captures before one Answer are sent as one question.

    Does it work in lockdown browsers?

    Not reliably. Lockdown browsers used by some assessment vendors, for example Mercer Mettl, can block the overlay entirely. Check the platform's rules and run a practice test first.

    How much does it cost?

    Sessions bill 1 credit per minute, rounded up, from Start to End. Every account gets 15 free credits a month, so you can try it on a practice round before paying. Paid plans add more credits each month.
